MUSETTE STORE INTERIOR DESIGN IASI

The Musette store in Palas, Iasi, enjoys a privileged position within the mall, being a longitudinally developed space with access to two parallel circulations and, therefore, two diametrically opposed entrances of equal importance. In order to keep the openings as wide as possible towards both facades, the architect grouped the secondary spaces towards the centre, thus generating an hourglass-shaped plan, physically materialised by two sinuous generators. The central area is narrowed on one side by a small hand store and office, and on the opposite side by the reception with cash register, with optimal visual control over the two entrances. Both curved walls are clad with thin wooden slats and horizontal tempered glass display poles, but in a complementary way: on one side the poles are at the bottom and the trim at the top of the wall, on the other side the arrangement is reversed, the tall poles at the top being for bags. The finish of the slats is a natural, brushed, matt lacquered oak veneer. The uneven illumination of the surfaces of the slats creates organic plays of shadows and accentuates the organic and natural character of the finishes.
