MR House is located in Bucharest, on the edge of a large plot dominated by natural planted space, which opens up consistently on every level. The composition of volumes slopes down towards the garden, so that the terraces above the ground floor have the same pleasant view as the living area. The volumetric composition chosen by the architect, is made of predominantly horizontal bodies, clad with natural materials in light colours, with a single vertical and chromatic accent - the access volume finished with wood. The loggia facing the garden takes the form of a white, two-dimensional strip, folded to become a floor, wall and canopy, and its continuity is broken by a single horizontal black slit immediately below the soffit. The same dark metal profile is used to differentiate the volume of the pool from the folded band of the loggia, the lower height of which corresponds exactly to the black register on the facade. It is the horizontal metal profile that sculpts the envelope of the house, permanently changing its role from an incoming edge (ridge) to an outgoing edge (bracket) and visually separating the floor plate and the floor plate from their supporting walls. The image thus loses its gravitational logic and becomes a full-scale conceptual model.
